Desiree has written approved programs for QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority), delivering and assessing students in Year 11 & 12 OP/ATAR Dance, since 2007. She was on the Dance panel for Education Qld for the Wide Bay Area and has written the new ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) Dance program for the Qld National Curriculum.

Desiree is successful in linking and working with children's learning and teaching techniques with ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) from age 3 to year 10.

Queensland Teachers Award

The 2012 Queensland College of Teachers Excellence in Teaching Awards presentation held in the Premiers’ Hall, Parliament House in Brisbane on World Teachers’ Day Friday, 26 October 2012, saw Desiree McGann honoured for her dedication and innovative strategies within her classes.  Selected from over 120 other nominations, 11 finalists from Queensland were invited to attend the prestigious function in a bid to earn the Dr Alan Druery OAM Excellence in Teaching Award. Desiree was awarded monetary prize and framed certificate as trophy for all her hard work.
