Contemporary - Lyrical & Modern

Contemporary is an expressive dance form with a free, artistic and creative feel. Contemporary draws a lot of its technique from classical ballet but unlike ballet, contemporary often focuses on floor work and dancers will usually perform with bare feet. Principles of contemporary dance include centering, alignment, gravity, contraction, release and suspension. The studio also creates Urban Contemporary routines with a mix of modern music with a cross between Lyrical Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop

Jazz - Commercial, Lyrical & Broadway

A sexy, sharp and energetic style of dance. The routine you will learn in this class is similar to what you will see in music video clips. This style is a performing jazz-based steps with a more smooth and lyrical feel. The music really governs how the routine will develop. Could be anything from a slow RnB track to Adele or Sia for example. Plus Broadway is based on a Musical Theatre tune and usually has props, such as hats, rodes and chairs. Everyone's favourite!

Tap

Want to make music with your feet? Tap is a great workout especially for the butt and legs. Get down and pump out the sounds. Tap is both funky and traditional, following the smooth style of Gene Kelly and strong beats of Tap Dogs.
